Buddhist scripture
Commissioned during the Kangxi reign at the direction of Grand Empress Dowager Xiaozhuang, the manuscript was produced by more than 170 monks. Its 108 cases contain 1,057 scriptures on more than 50,000 indigo folios.
Gold script, painting, imperial textiles, carved wood, and ritual binding are preserved as one sacred ensemble - an enduring record of devotion, courtly art, and exchange among Manchu, Mongolian, and Tibetan cultures.
